Old Rectangular Glass Paperweight Colored Image of Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, Boston Massachusetts For Your Paperweight Collection-FeneuilHall1 Details Description: This is a very nice old rectangular clear glass paperweight having a flat profile. This paperweight has a colored image of Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market in Boston Massachusetts. The image shows the buildings, awnings, horse drawn carriages, and people. One of the buildings has the word "AGRICULTURAL" on it. The image has a caption in red over gold at the bottom which says "FANEUIL HALL AND QUINCY MARKET" with the word BOSTON below it. The image is marked PYRO PHOTO Co. in the right and corner. The paperweight has an old green paper backing, which is applied to the back, with a light blue coloring around it. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely early to mid 1900s could be earlier. Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Size: The paperweight is ~4" by ~2 1/2" and is ~7/8" thick. The paperweight weighs about 10 ounces. Maker: Unknown. Marks: Marked PYRO PHOTO Co. in the right and corner. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice old paperweight with a nice historic image, which would display very well in your collection of paperweights, commerce related or Boston related items. Condition: The paperweight is in very good condition with no cracks, hairlines, chips, or repairs. The print image is in excellent condition and shows the details nicely. The paperweight has scratches throughout, many with embedded dirt. The surface of the paperweight also some defects in the glass, which are difficult to see but are there and can be felt. The backing has a few scratches, some losses and is lifting off at one of the corners. Some of the blue background which is covered by the paper backing is showing some losses along the edges, but nothing to worry about. Be that as it may, this is a very interesting paperweight with nice historic image that would make a great addition to your paperweight collection.
